Here’s my penny’s worth…

1.)Set a goal, say like a holiday in a place you’d always wanted to go. Then work/save towards that goal, look forward to getting to your
2.)Get fit. The fitter you are the better you feel, improved outlook. I have a punch- bag at home and still play football at close to 50. Join a team sport or social club.
3.)Don’t drink too much! I fell into that habit. Now I’m down to drinking just twice weekly (pity it’s six pints of Guinness each night)
4.)Time is a great healer.
5.)If you need to get a shoulder to cry-on seek counseling.

Cheers.

Paul.

Hi Cantebury

You commented on the blog below the 'Pain' blog which confused me a bit. I'm not unhappy with my lot, just getting a lot of tears and 'blame' from my wife. Your advice is pretty spot on.

I am so unfit, partly due to a chest op some years ago where I had a rib removed (which was not made into a woman as far as I am aware). I have also got into the habit of drinking a bottle of wine most nights. I justify it by not smoking or going out that much.
I have been drunk on Guiness many years ago, fell asleep with my glasses on and woke up in the same position.

I don't think I need healing. I have a pretty tight philosophy on life and I appreciate being here so much, even on bad days. I wish I had done some thing differently and I feel that I have let some people down but hey, who is perfect?

I am very close to 50 and I need to get out more and make some connections.

Thanks for the advice.
